Interests

• Java - I co-chair the Orange County Java Users Group (OCJUG). If you are interested in Java, then please join us.
• Ant - has a new book (wiki).
• Ruby - Ruby on Rails seems to be popular these days. There is a local user group: OCRuby.
• Groovy and Grails are more interesting as they are based on Java and an Open Source stack of current technologies. We have just started an Groovy/Grails User Group. Here is some info on Groovy & Grails.
• Agile Unit Testing and OO Design Patterns are interesting. We study these at the local OCPatterns study group. Also there is a local Extreme Progeamming user group. Vince Huston's page
• Go - The Asian game of Go (Igo, Weichi, Baduk) is fascinating. Download a teaching game smart games or smartgo (has a mac version). If you live in Southern California, join this mailing list. If you live near Santa Monica, go to this club. This game is very hard for computers and seems to be a challenge for AI techniques
• Teaching Computer Science is fun (and you will learn a lot ). I have taught these classes. at CSULB
• JSPWiki is an novel implementation of a wiki. I have one here.
